Hi! I’m Joanne Showalter. I live in Crozet, VA with my husband and our four kitties, Nelly, Zoey, Roxy, and Willow. I have two grown daughters, as well as two beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy reading, hiking, travel, music, kayaking, art, and of course, kitties!

Beginning in 2011, I volunteered for Love for Animals, an animal sanctuary in Louisa, caring for and feeding approximately 140 indoor/outdoor cats. When LFA closed, I began working with the Louisa Humane Society, volunteering on the fundraising committee. In 2014, I joined the Community Cat Project of Voices for Animals as a volunteer, TNRing cats, feeding feral colonies, recruiting volunteers, attending food drives and tabling events, posting flyers, and heading the Foster/Adopt program to socialize and rehome feral kittens.

I was a founding board member of Cat Action Team (CAT) as well as the vice president, while also running the annual fall shelter-building event. I spent 5 years recruiting and training foster volunteers, managing CAT’s Foster & Adopt Program, and working on major fundraising events.

In 2018 I began to respond to the ongoing need for reliable cat sitting in the area. I continue to offer kitty care in Crozet and surrounding areas. 

As a cat sitter, I take great pride in providing the best possible care for your little ones. My genuine love for cats drives my passion for this job. Understanding their behavior and needs allows me to create a warm and comforting environment for them. I take my responsibilities seriously, diligently adhering to feeding schedules, litter box maintenance, medication delivery, and playtime routines.
